Dream Expert Says It’s Possible To Heal Your Body While Lucid Dreaming
Dream Expert Says It’s Possible To Heal Your Body While Lucid Dreaming
Needham, MA (PRWEB) February 11, 2009
Lucid dreaming, or the ability to become consciously aware of dreaming while in the dream state, has been proven since the late 1970′s. For years, lucid dreamers have discussed their lucid dream adventures of flying, interacting with dream figures, and influencing the dream landscape. But now, long-time lucid dreamer and author, Robert Waggoner, reports that some lucid dreamers are using this state to heal their physical bodies, often with dramatic results.
Waggoner, who is president-elect of the International Association for the Study of Dreams (IASD), has been experimenting with lucid dreaming for over thirty years. He has logged over 1,000 lucid dream experiences, and follows the field closely.
In his recently released book Lucid Dreaming: Gateway to the Inner Self (Moment Point Press 2009), Waggoner devotes a chapter to lucid dreamer’s successful and unsuccessful attempts at healing their physical bodies. While noting lucid dream researcher, Dr. Stephen LaBerge has conclusively shown in sleep labs that lucid dream events appear to parallel brain events, Waggoner reports some lucid dreamers have taken this idea further. Through focused intent, they sought to heal themselves while consciously aware in the dream state.
“Being consciously aware in the dream state may allow the lucid dreamer to influence unconscious body mechanisms, much like excellent subjects in deep hypnosis,” Waggoner reports. “In any case, the anecdotal reports show lucid dreamers have had apparent success with stopping internal bleeding, reducing fever and signs of infection, speeding recovery from fractures, reducing uterine cysts, and healing scar tissue.”
Lucid dreamers sought to achieve healing in a variety of ways, Waggoner notes. Aware in the dream, some consciously manipulated their dream body and mentally projected healing thoughts on the diseased area. Others directed healing intent to the diseased area, which often manifested as light shooting from their hands. One group decided to create a healing environment or healing potion, while aware in the dream.
One lucid dream researcher, E.W. Kellogg III, Ph.D., has done the most to investigate lucid dream healing. “Ed first experimented on himself in 1984 by becoming lucidly aware in a dream, and seeking to heal a severely infected tonsil,” Waggoner explains. “Upon waking, the signs of infection and the pain had decreased by about 95%. With Ed’s doctorate in biochemistry, he takes a very scientific approach to this subject and has pioneered healing in lucid dreams.”
Some lucid dreamers did not report any noticeable success with their attempts at lucid dream healing. This group, Waggoner discovered, was more likely to try indirect methods of healing, such as seeking medical advice in the lucid dream. “It appears,” says Waggoner, “that lucid dreamers who seem to have success with healing, act directly on the problem, focus their healing intent, and have a stronger expectation of success.

Start Your 2010 Weight Loss Goals On The Right Note, Says Australian Expert
Start Your 2010 Weight Loss Goals On The Right Note, Says Australian Expert
(PRWEB) January 1, 2010
Contrasting widespread perceived wisdom, diet and exercise alone are insufficient for effective, lasting weight loss, says leading Australian obesity and overweight researcher, Mr. Trevor Johnson. This, and other diet myths commonly repeated do much damage to the efforts and ambitions of those people genuinely seeking answers to their weight problems.
“There is a seriously incorrect notion that is sadly widely held that an overweight or obese person can lose weight easily simply by cutting calories and increasing exercise”, Mr. Johnson said today. “This notion of a two-pronged simplistic cure ignores well proven scientific research that proves that a third factor is not only just as important as diet and exercise, but for the sake of lasting weight loss results is even more important.”
Mr. Johnson, who publishes the http://www.DietWords.com website, refers to many studies in recent years that have shown the importance of psychological support structures in achieving meaningful and lasting weight loss. These studies have consistently shown that dieters who have psychological support systems in place not only lose more weight, but maintain their weight loss more effectively in the longer term.
“There is no single psychological support that works above all others”, Mr. Johnson says. “There are numerous ways people can use that all show good levels of success.” He suggests a few options:
One-on-one counselling. This may be with a psychologist, though more commonly is available through a number of the established weight loss clinic chains. Weekly face-to-face sessions with a trained weight loss counsellor increases accountability while also providing motivation and advice.
Group counselling. Whether in a professional setting or “self-help” type group setting, peer support and sharing of burdens and rejoicing in one another’s successes provides valuable assistance in weight loss that is simple not available for those who try to go it alone.
Weight Loss Health Spa Retreats. In the minds of many people, this is the ultimate weight loss mechanism. In additional to professional and supervised dieting and exercise programs, both individual and group counselling and peer support produce wondrous results in the better weight loss resorts. Mr. Johnson warns of two downsides to the weight loss health retreat option, however. Firstly, few offer a program long enough to be truly effective and produce the type of permanent habit changes that are essential for lasting weight loss results. A minimum of six months is what it really takes, though this time commitment is impractical for most people. Secondly, even when someone can set aside six months for a long term residential retreat program, the cost of around $ 3,000 per week still makes it a prohibitive option for all but the elite of our society.
Weight loss hypnosis and subliminal weight loss. These options can be undertaken with face-to-face sessions with a qualified hypnotherapist, or by ‘self-hypnosis’ via tapes, CDs or downloadable MP3 recordings produced by qualified psychotherapy professionals. These provide for a very cost effective form of psychological support for the person seeking to lose weight yet has problems with either available time or location for seeing a face-to-face hypnotherapist. Consistent use of these tools certainly do produce very effective results when used in conjunction with a balanced diet plan and appropriate exercise.
Mr. Johnson commends prominent television personality, Dr. Phil McGraw for his book “Dr. Phil’s Ultimate Weight Loss Solution”. Of the truly blockbuster diet books published in recent decades, Dr. Phil’s stands alone for its solid emphasis on psychological, behavioural and emotion issues and support related to weight loss success. While questioning much of Dr. Phil’s dieting & exercise advise, Mr. Johnson points out that 80% of Dr. Phil’s weight loss solution is not about diet or exercise, but psychological, behavioural and emotional issues. He recommends that every dieter should read Dr. Phil’s book at least once per year to allow the behavioural teachings to saturate their brain for lifelong benefit.
Other psychological or para-psychological techniques, such as various forms of meditation, Neuro-Linguistic Programming, Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) and others have not got the scientific research behind them in relation to their effectiveness in weight loss, though Mr. Johnson believes that in the coming years, the research will come out in favor of these psychological support techniques, too.

Cincinnati Hypnotist Says Â?Quit Trying to Quit SmokingÂ?
(PRWEB) December 20, 2004
January 4th, 2005, marks the first day of its kind when professionals in the field of hypnotism from organizations around the world will be sharing their expertise while promoting the truths and benefits of hypnotism. This is World Hypnotism Day.
Making a healthy change is on everyoneÂ?s mind this time of year. One of the most sought after New YearÂ?s resolution is to quit smoking. Certified Hypnotist William Molitor helps to bring that wish one step closer with his free education seminars at the Tri-State Hypnosis Center and other areas surrounding Greater Cincinnati, January 4 thru 8, 2005.
The intention of these seminars is to educate the public about hypnosis. William says Â?That it is only through education that individuals will be able to make sound decisions about whether or not hypnosis is right for them to use to quit smoking and become a non-smokerÂ?. One popular myth that interferes with these decisions is that hypnosis is mind control. Â?It is important to note that no one can be hypnotized against their willÂ? says William, Â?and no one can be forced to do things while in hypnosis which they do not want to do.Â? Learning some important tools such as positive self talk can greatly increase anyoneÂ?s success rate. With this new information you will discover that you do not use hypnosis to try to quit smoking, you use it to become a non-smoker.
Hypnotism is a safe and powerful intervention for a variety of motivational, self-improvement and goal achieving situations. It is natural and free of side effects, the results are long lasting and often permanent. The American Medical Association approved hypnosis as a viable medical practice in 1958.

Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB) August 23, 2007
One of the world’s leading and most respected clinical hypnotherapist and hypnosis trainers in Australia contends much of the pain suffered by cancer patients and people who suffered from depression and insomnia can be managed and treated with hypnosis.
“A medical study by Pharmaceutical Researcher Nathan Elliot, oncologists and other doctors found significant levels of insomnia, depression and pain in cancer patients had dropped noticeably after the use of hypnosis. ‘The 2005 Quality of Life Study’ revealed significant changes over a six-week period using mind-body healing CDs,” said Australian Hypnotherapist Dr. Rick Collingwood, a pioneer in hypnotherapy, who plans to visit America in September with his first stop in Los Angeles and New York. “I want to show my unique hypnosis therapy skills that help cure everything from alcoholism to obesity.”
One of the 350,000 CDs Dr. Collingwood sells entitled, “Mind Body Healing” is formatted to create positive healing connections and to bring your body into harmony with your subconscious mind, which regulates all of the healing mechanisms of the body. “Your subconscious mind is like the hard drive on your computer, it often performs millions of functions in your body, even while you sleep,” he said.
For more than a decade Collingwood has assisted countless thousands of people in therapeutic hypnosis and is negotiating distribution outlets for upcoming DVDs that helps to motivate and build self esteem and or confidence.
Rick Collingwood is a professional hypnotist, author, counselor, public speaker, business motivator, and hypnosis trainer who practices and trains hypnosis at his Mind Motivations & The Australian Academy of Hypnosis clinics in Brisbane, Queensland, and Perth Western Australia. This is believed to be the first Gold Record ever achieved by a hypnosis CD. 429 Pound Man Says He Was Going to Die Young, Until He Turned to Hypnosis Weight Loss
429 Pound Man Says He Was Going to Die Young, Until He Turned to Hypnosis Weight Loss
Pittsburgh, PA (PRWEB) January 13, 2009
Last August, Kevin, who prefers to be identified by his first name only, came to a frightening realization, “I was someone who was going to die young without ever really having a chance to live.” Kevin, who weighed 429 pounds at the time, had spent most of his adult life dieting and failing. His doctor was emphatic saying that Kevin had no other option; he must undergo gastric bypass surgery.
As Kevin explains, “I knew I had to make a change if I was going to be around long enough to accomplish my goals.” Seeking to avoid surgery, he researched work done by Dan Vitchoff, a Pittsburgh hypnosis specialist, in helping U.S. Olympic Gold Medalists meet their goal. Still uncertain whether hypnosis was right for him, Kevin made a lifesaving decision and contacted the PA Hypnosis Center.
In his first five months working with the Pittsburgh hypnosis specialists at the PA Hypnosis Center, Kevin has already lost 129 pounds. He says, “Hypnosis is not an all-in-one-solution. But it is an extremely valuable tool for anyone who is willing to put in the hard work and effort to change their life.”
Dona Weber’s story is less dramatic, but like millions of other Americans, she has spent much of her adult life battling weight gain. She would starve herself on drastic diet plans, only to see the pounds return as soon as the diet ended. Unwilling to live her life on the weight loss – weight gain roller coaster, Dona, like Kevin, and thousands of others, achieved dramatic success with hypnosis weigh loss at the PA Hypnosis Center.
With the pounds dropping and her energy and enthusiasm growing, Dona thanks the hypnosis weight loss experts, calling her new attitude and the resulting weigh loss an amazing New Years gift. In Dona’s words, the Pittsburgh hypnosis team has ‘given her back her life.’ Dona says, “From the very first appointment I knew…my life was going to change forever. I have not had any junk food since the first session…my life is improving every day.”
Not only are many in the medical field now recommending hypnosis weight loss programs, but some are also turning to hypnosis to solve their own weight loss challenges. Mary Lou Niebauer is an RN who has spent most of her life feeling like her eating habits and behaviors were out of control. She began working with Catherine N. Dolgos, CHt. Certified Consulting Hypnotherapist at the PA Hypnosis Center to help her lose weight and improve her eating habits. She has lost over 25 pounds and says, “I have not eaten or desired any sweets, junk foods or ice cream since my first hypnosis session. I totally feel in control of my eating habits and I no longer overeat.”
Dan Vitchoff, MS Ed., CHt. Board Certified and Licensed Hypnotherapist, says such results are typical. Clients celebrating life-changing weight loss are the norm at this Pittsburgh hypnosis center, as is the glowing praise from others who have ended addictions to smoking or alcohol. Drew Miladin smoked for years before turning to hypnosis at the PA Hypnosis Center to kick the habit for good. “I quit smoking successfully with little or no sensations. It’s amazing and it really works.”
Vitchoff and his staff specialize in helping people lose weight, quit smoking and make positive changes in their lives through hypnosis. Clinical hypnosis has been proven as one of the most effective tools available for behavior modification; reducing stress, tension and anxiety; overcoming fears, phobias, and insomnia; public speaking; sports improvement; increased memory and concentration; and Professional Coaching. Vitchoff says, “The process of hypnosis allows you to train your mind to think about yourself and your life in a more positive way.”
Dan Vitchoff is a Mental Training and Performance Coach for US Olympic Gold Medalists, Walton Glenn Eller and Vincent Hancock. The methods and techniques Vitchoff used to help these elite athletes prepare for the most intense competition in the world are the same methods and techniques used to help clients at the PA Hypnosis Center reach their goals.
For more information or to request an interview, please contact Catie Dolgos at (724) 934-8446 or via email at hypnosismarketing(at)comcast(dot)net.

Men and Women Worry About the Same Things, Including Weight Loss and Blushing, Says Data from Hypnosis Downloads.com
(PRWEB) October 3, 2005
Research from www.HypnosisDownloads.com, the web’s leading hypnotherapy download site, revealed today that men and women demonstrate unexpected common ground when it comes to their fears and anxieties with weight loss, blushing and self-esteem being among the Top 10 self-hypnosis downloads for both sexes.(* – see notes to editors for more data)
With modern day stresses as well as work and time pressures, people are turning to the privacy and accessibility of the web for help rather than discussing embarrassing problems, anxieties or health issues with friends or seeking medical attention. In fact, as many as 30,000 people log on the google search engine every day for help and advice on depression, anxiety and phobia.
Almost a fifth of the population suffer from some form of anxiety problem at any given time (1) and self-hypnosis downloads are an increasingly popular modern solution to treating a whole range of mental and emotional issues.
“Since ancient times, hypnosis has been used as a powerful therapeutic tool and self-hypnosis, using the power of your own mind, can successfully move you into a deeply relaxed and powerfully focused state which encourages flexibility and receptivity to suggestion, helping to change unwanted behaviours, alter emotional states and in some cases promote healing,” explains Roger Elliott co-founder of Uncommon Knowledge, providers of HypnosisDownloads.com.
