About Hypnotism
Hypnotism is a safe and effective intervention for a variety of motivational, self-improvement and goal setting situations. It is natural and free of side effects, and when performed by a competent certified practitioner the results are long lasting and often permanent.
Guidelines of Practice
The National Guild of Hypnotists has ethical guidelines, to which all members must adhere and hold to the ideal that hypnotism should be practiced in a free and open manner in line with all national and regional requirements. NGH Hypnotists are not practicing medical or mental health doctors (unless additional credentials are held by the member hypnotist). Hypnotists do not diagnose disease, but can help as an adjunct to conventional medical or mental health interventions. They have our own unique non-diagnostic language, which they use with clients in order to help them achieve their desired changes.

About Hypnotism:
In 1958 the American Medical Association endorsed hypnosis and hypnotherapy as a legitimate treatment tool for pain, stress and relaxation management, weight loss, smoking cessation, childbirth, preparing for surgery, as well as overcoming fears of medical, dental and other hospital procedures. It is natural and free of side effects, when conducted by a certified competent practitioner the results are long lasting and often permanent.
Guidelines of Practice:
The National Guild of Hypnotists has ethical guidelines which all members must adhere to. Even though NGH Hypnotists do not require professional medical or mental health credentials a great number of their members are credentialed in health care professions as is Mr. Eslinger. Non physician hypnotists do not diagnose disease, but do use hypnosis as an adjunct to conventional medical or mental health interventions. Hypnotists use a unique non-diagnostic language with clients in order to help them achieve the healthy change they desire.

World Hypnotism Day Celebrates the Healing Benefits of Hypnosis
World Hypnotism Day Celebrates the Healing Benefits of Hypnosis
New York, NY (PRWEB) December 31, 2005
On January 4th, 2006 Certified Hypnosis Practitioners from all over the world will join to together for World Hypnotism Day, a special day dedicated to educating the public, the media and their health care communities about the many benefits of working with a Certified Hypnosis Professional.
According to Michael Ellner, an internationally prominent Certified Hypnosis Practitioner and educator, “There is an urgent need for World Hypnotism Day because there are tens of millions of people who could be helped to feel better, heal faster and be more effective who are not utilizing this safe, effective and affordable approach to relieving both psychic and physical pain.”
There is considerable scientific evidence that hypnosis can help reduce, even eliminate pain. “With the recent spate of bad news about pain killers,” Ellner says, “one would think that hypnosis, acupuncture, chiropractic medicine, and other healing arts would take their rightful place in the anthology of pain treatment.”
According to the New York Times (12/28/04), “What we find are patients debating whether to continue their pain medications. …The degree of alarm and outrage is because something that’s supposed to make people safe is really putting them at risk.”
However, both the media and the medical establishment have perpetuated misconceptions about the practice and nature of hypnosis. As a result, many people believe that being hypnotized means losing control when, in fact, hypnosis is about helping people take control.
New Year’s Resolutions such as stopping smoking and managing weight, chronic problems like the pain of arthritis, or even pre-operative fears, can be effectively treated by self-hypnosis – with the guidance of a certified hypnosis professional.
One of Ellner’s major concerns is the damage being done by self-proclaimed “experts” – a subset of MDs and PhDs, who insist that some people just “can’t be hypnotized” – a notion which reflects the limitations of their own clinical inflexibility rather than the subject’s ability to be hypnotized.
These so-called “experts” advise the public to seek out only those hypnotherapists who are licensed health care providers such as themselves. Just as one wouldn’t expect an MD or PhD to be an expert plumber, by the same token there is no reason to believe that a licensed health care provider is an expert in hypnosis.
Ellner explains further that Certified Hypnosis professionals are not at odds with most licensed health care practitioners. “We only have a problem with that subset of MDs and PhDs who pass themselves off as experts in hypnosis and claim they are protecting the public,” he says, “when in actuality, they are standing in the way of Certified Hypnosis Professionals who simply want to take their rightful place in their health care communities. Podiatrists, optometrists, midwives, chiropractors and psychologists all suffered a similar backlash and operated within the same realm of “quackery” in the recent past.
Ellner maintains his private hypnosis practice in the prestigious Metropolitan Medical Healthcare and Wellness Center in NYC. He enjoys working as part of health care and wellness teams as well as a stand alone hypnosis practitioner. Ellner will be teaching advanced hypnosis classes in Mexico, Boston, Boerne (TX), Detroit, Greater LA and New York City throughout 2006.
World Hypnotism Day was conceived and sponsored by The National Guild of Hypnotists in association with The Academy of Professional Hypnosis, The Association to Advance Ethical Hypnosis, Die Freie Gesellschaft für Hypnose e.V. (Germany), The Hypnosis Educational Council International, The Hypnosis Information Network, The International Hypnological Association, The International Medical And Dental Hypnosis Association, The National Association of Certified Hypno Counselors, The National Association of Clergy Hypnotherapists, The National Federation of Hypnotists OPEIU AFL/CIO, The National Federation of Neuro Linguistic Psychology, The Ontario Association of Hypnotherapists (Canada) and The National Council for Hypnotherapy (England).
Ellner can speak extensively about how hypnosis can help people stay focused on improving their health, lives and careers. Michael Ellner is available for interview. For further information http://www.ellner.info.

Hypnotherapy Gains Momentum In A World Filled With Pain, Sickness And Trauma; Leading Clinical Hypnotherapist Rick Collingwood Helps Thousands With His ‘Knowing Success’ Seminars
Hypnotherapy Gains Momentum In A World Filled With Pain, Sickness And Trauma; Leading Clinical Hypnotherapist Rick Collingwood Helps Thousands With His ‘Knowing Success’ Seminars
Perth, WA Australia (PRWEB) November 11, 2007
Rick Collingwood, a leading clinical hypnotherapist and mind clinician, brings hope to thousands as he tours Australia, and plans to tour the United States soon, with his series of seminars called “Knowing Success.” Collingwood has tremendously helped the phenomena of hypnosis and hypnotherapy gain momentum with his amazing skills and talents.
In a world filled with stress, abuse, and disease, Collingwood’s techniques often give his subjects a new lease on life. Through his treatment, he has helped people with weight loss, breaking addictions or bad habits, depression, stress, abundance, relationships, disease, intuition, child behavioral conditions, memory, insomnia, sports and mind body healing.
On IRE radio in the United States, Collingwood helped a special guest bring her cancer markers down from 36 to 11 in only one week. This miracle took place after only a 30-minute hypnosis session with Collingwood. Collingwood also works with many doctors in Australia, and through trials with patients who suffer from cancer and thyroid problems, has seen amazing results.
“Collingwood challenges that he will prove to help subjects overcome any problem within a maximum of six hours, even traumatic events such as those happening with Britney Spears and others,” states Johnny Lordi, Producer.
From a medical perspective, hypnosis and hypnotherapy have gained credibility in recent years due to new research using brain-imaging technology such as MRI, PET and EEG scans. What once was thought to be myth or an imaginative form of self-help therapy comes to light as these scans reveal that hypnotized patients have a truly altered perception of the senses. This new perception gives some the ability to overcome stress, quit smoking, block out pain from surgeries and even erase memories of pain trauma from the past.
Collingwood’s seminars “Knowing Success” give attendees insight to the world of hypnosis and hypnotherapy. Collingwood shares his experience and knowledge to help others achieve success and unlock the potential hidden within their own minds. Those attending the seminars will
witness first-hand the talents of a man the American Press called “The Australian Phenomenon.”
Lordi states, “After a decade of working with cancer and other diseases, Collingwood invented a new technique in hypnotherapy that works. He has found the key to the technique and language that turns on the healing forces.”
About Rick Collingwood: Rick Collingwood is one of the world’s most skilled therapeutic hypnotists and also trains others in hypnosis. He founded Mind Motivations and The Australian Academy of Hypnosis, and is also on the committee of The Council of Clinical Hypnotherapists. He has
accredited training in hypnosis, counseling and mental health issues. He has also earned a gold ARIA Award for his Lose Weight Now! Hypnosis CD.
Collingwood has helped many actors, fighters and real people in the United States overcome problems such as back pain, drug addiction, kidney transplants, smoking and weight loss with a 100 percent success rate. He also developed CDs called Neurosonic Frequencies, which are so powerful they get into the minds of people where lifelong changes take place, even while sleeping.
Collingwood has been featured internationally on Good Morning America, KTLA, the NBC News, and numerous radio shows including The Joey Reynolds Radio Show WOR New York, The Mancow Radio Show Chicago, Bulldog Radio Show IRIE Ocean City Maryland and others.

Figure Skating Tips: How To Be A Better Figure Skater: The Seven Mental Toughness Habits Of World Champion Figure Skaters Revealed In Seminar, Books and CD Programs
Figure Skating Tips: How To Be A Better Figure Skater: The Seven Mental Toughness Habits Of World Champion Figure Skaters Revealed In Seminar, Books and CD Programs
River Edge, NJ (PRWEB) May 11, 2011
On Tuesday, June 7, 2011 at 5:30 p.m., Jay P. Granat, Ph.D., psychotherapist, author, coach of champions and founder of http://www.StayInTheZone.com , will give a 90 minute seminar for figure skaters, parents of figure skaters and coaches of figure skaters at The William G. Mennen Sports Arena in Moorestown, N.J.
Dr. Granat will address many of the key psychological, emotional and mental aspects which challenge skaters who are competing at a high level.
Jackie Palawasta, a former competitive skater raised in Canada, and well known skating coach, invited Dr. Granat to help skaters, parents and coaches to better manage the stressors associated with figure skating competitions and training for top figure skaters.
According to Dr. Granat, who has coached top athletes from every sport around the world and has been featured in many major media outlets, “Figure skaters frequently come to talk to me to better manage the mental part of their sport. Young skaters are sometimes blocked or frightened. Others skate are great in practice, but report choking when the pressure is on. Some are involved in significant conflicts with their parents or coaches. Many have no ability to manage anxiety and they do not know how to ease their minds and their bodies into the zone. When skaters call me, they are stuck in a slump. Their confidence is low and their anxiety is high.”
This ninety minute seminar will outline strategies and techniques on performing one’s best on the ice.
“Figure skaters have lots of pressure. One mistake in a competition can cause them to lose. The judging is often impacted by politics and some of the moves skaters have t make can be scary and dangerous.
In addition, skaters need to be entertainers and performers as well as athletes. They have to connect with the audience and the judges as they execute very difficult routines. Figure skating takes a special kind of mental toughness,” notes Granat.
Young skaters and parents of skaters under age twelve can learn how to be calm, focused and confident by using Dr. Granat’s Bedtime Stories For Young Athletes Program and the free book How To Get Into The Zone In Just One Minute.

River Edge, NJ (PRWEB) November 18, 2008
Jay P. Granat, Ph.D., psychotherapist, author and founder of http://www.stayinthezone.com teaches athletes from virtually every sport how to get into the zone and stay there.
Recently, an Olympic Gold Medalist and a group of twenty four Olympic coaches and sports doctors from Japan came to New Jersey to learn about the mental aspects of competing in top level sports. This group of elite athletes, coaches and health care providers attended a one day seminar conducted by Jay P. Granat, Ph.D.
“The Japanese competitors and their coaches wanted to learn more about my approaches to getting athletes to perform to their fullest potential. With the help of an interpreter, I taught them some of the methods I use with young athletes, professional athletes, Division I athletes, Olympic hopefuls and weekend warriors,” says Dr. Granat.
The attendees included an Olympic Gold Medalist in gymnastics from the 2004 Games in Athens.
The group of twenty four visitors listened carefully as Dr. Granat spoke about motivation, focus, confidence and ways for athletes, coaches and parents to better their relationships with one another. According to Granat, the health of these relationships has a lot to do with an athlete’s success.
During the seminar, Dr. Granat presented case histories involving many different athletes from a wide range of sports. While there are some cultural differences in training methods employed in Japan and in America, many of the performance issues remain essentially the same.
“I love working with competitors from different sports. They all come to see me to find out how they can get into the zone. In the process, they teach me a lot about themselves and their sports. In a typical week, I might counsel a tennis player, a golf pro, a baseball pitcher, a hockey goalie and a wrestler. I have even gotten calls from rodeo cowboys and I am currently counseling a jockey. ” remarks Granat.
Next month, Dr. Granat will lecture to one hundred and fifty football players who want to get mentally tougher when they compete. These athletes are participating in an intensive camp for football players who play on special teams.
The camp will be comprised primarily of field goal kickers, punters, long snappers and special teams players. This camp will be held on the campus of Rutgers University in Piscataway, New Jersey and it is sponsored by http://www.specialtemamssoltuions.com
