ABC’s Good Morning America Interviews Dr. Jay Granat on Impact of Cheating in Sports on Young Athletes

ABC’s Good Morning America Interviews Dr. Jay Granat on Impact of Cheating in Sports on Young Athletes

New York, NY (PRWEB) September 18, 2007

Jay P. Granat, Ph.D., a psychotherapist who counsels athletes, coaches and parents of young athletes and founder of http://www.stayinthezone.com , commented on the impact that cheating in sports has on America’s youth on ABC’s Good Morning America.

Dr. Granat, the author of How To Get Into The Zone And Stay In The Zone With Sport Psychology And Self-Hypnosis, believes that cheating like the recent incident involving the New England Patriots and Bill Belichick is bad for sports, bad for kids, bad for parents and bad for coaches.”

“Once stars break the rules, others think they can do it too.”

According to Granat, “Like it or not, sports figures are role models and they have an impact on the behaviors, attitudes and values of others.”

In addition, according to Dr. Granat, “Sports do not exist in a vacuum. There are incidents of cheating on Wall Street, in politics as well as in sports.”

“When the rewards are high, some people are apt to break the rules.”

“Fortunately, there are many fine, honest and reputable coaches who create a positive environment for our children,” says Dr. Granat, who has his offices in River Edge, NJ, but counsels athletes from around the world.

Granat would have liked Bill Belichick to have been a bit more apologetic in his recent press conference. This would have set a good example for people involved in serious athletics.

Dr. Jay Granat Counsels Olympic Athletes, Olympic Coaches, Division I Athletes, Young Athletes, Tennis Pros, Professional Golfers And Weekend Warriors From Around The World

River Edge, NJ (PRWEB) November 18, 2008

Jay P. Granat, Ph.D., psychotherapist, author and founder of http://www.stayinthezone.com teaches athletes from virtually every sport how to get into the zone and stay there.

Recently, an Olympic Gold Medalist and a group of twenty four Olympic coaches and sports doctors from Japan came to New Jersey to learn about the mental aspects of competing in top level sports. This group of elite athletes, coaches and health care providers attended a one day seminar conducted by Jay P. Granat, Ph.D.

“The Japanese competitors and their coaches wanted to learn more about my approaches to getting athletes to perform to their fullest potential. With the help of an interpreter, I taught them some of the methods I use with young athletes, professional athletes, Division I athletes, Olympic hopefuls and weekend warriors,” says Dr. Granat.

The attendees included an Olympic Gold Medalist in gymnastics from the 2004 Games in Athens.

The group of twenty four visitors listened carefully as Dr. Granat spoke about motivation, focus, confidence and ways for athletes, coaches and parents to better their relationships with one another. According to Granat, the health of these relationships has a lot to do with an athlete’s success.

During the seminar, Dr. Granat presented case histories involving many different athletes from a wide range of sports. While there are some cultural differences in training methods employed in Japan and in America, many of the performance issues remain essentially the same.

“I love working with competitors from different sports. They all come to see me to find out how they can get into the zone. In the process, they teach me a lot about themselves and their sports. In a typical week, I might counsel a tennis player, a golf pro, a baseball pitcher, a hockey goalie and a wrestler. I have even gotten calls from rodeo cowboys and I am currently counseling a jockey. ” remarks Granat.

Next month, Dr. Granat will lecture to one hundred and fifty football players who want to get mentally tougher when they compete. These athletes are participating in an intensive camp for football players who play on special teams.

The camp will be comprised primarily of field goal kickers, punters, long snappers and special teams players. This camp will be held on the campus of Rutgers University in Piscataway, New Jersey and it is sponsored by http://www.specialtemamssoltuions.com

In January, Dr. Jay Granat will lecture to a group of young basketball players and their parents. He will teach them what they need to know about being calm, focused and confident when they compete. This seminar is sponsored by http://www.hoopdreamz.org.

In the Spring of 2008, Dr. Granat is scheduled to lecture to college athletes, coaches and high school athletes at The State University of New York at Buffalo. http://www.buffalo.edu/

Drive 495 a golf training facility in Manhattan has asked Dr. Granat to provide a seminar on the mental aspects of golf. http://www.driveclubs.com/

429 Pound Man Says He Was Going to Die Young, Until He Turned to Hypnosis Weight Loss

429 Pound Man Says He Was Going to Die Young, Until He Turned to Hypnosis Weight Loss

Dan Vitchoff, Board Certified Hypnotherapist

Pittsburgh, PA (PRWEB) January 13, 2009

Last August, Kevin, who prefers to be identified by his first name only, came to a frightening realization, “I was someone who was going to die young without ever really having a chance to live.” Kevin, who weighed 429 pounds at the time, had spent most of his adult life dieting and failing. His doctor was emphatic saying that Kevin had no other option; he must undergo gastric bypass surgery.

As Kevin explains, “I knew I had to make a change if I was going to be around long enough to accomplish my goals.” Seeking to avoid surgery, he researched work done by Dan Vitchoff, a Pittsburgh hypnosis specialist, in helping U.S. Olympic Gold Medalists meet their goal. Still uncertain whether hypnosis was right for him, Kevin made a lifesaving decision and contacted the PA Hypnosis Center.

In his first five months working with the Pittsburgh hypnosis specialists at the PA Hypnosis Center, Kevin has already lost 129 pounds. He says, “Hypnosis is not an all-in-one-solution. But it is an extremely valuable tool for anyone who is willing to put in the hard work and effort to change their life.”

Dona Weber’s story is less dramatic, but like millions of other Americans, she has spent much of her adult life battling weight gain. She would starve herself on drastic diet plans, only to see the pounds return as soon as the diet ended. Unwilling to live her life on the weight loss – weight gain roller coaster, Dona, like Kevin, and thousands of others, achieved dramatic success with hypnosis weigh loss at the PA Hypnosis Center.

With the pounds dropping and her energy and enthusiasm growing, Dona thanks the hypnosis weight loss experts, calling her new attitude and the resulting weigh loss an amazing New Years gift. In Dona’s words, the Pittsburgh hypnosis team has ‘given her back her life.’ Dona says, “From the very first appointment I knew…my life was going to change forever. I have not had any junk food since the first session…my life is improving every day.”

Not only are many in the medical field now recommending hypnosis weight loss programs, but some are also turning to hypnosis to solve their own weight loss challenges. Mary Lou Niebauer is an RN who has spent most of her life feeling like her eating habits and behaviors were out of control. She began working with Catherine N. Dolgos, CHt. Certified Consulting Hypnotherapist at the PA Hypnosis Center to help her lose weight and improve her eating habits. She has lost over 25 pounds and says, “I have not eaten or desired any sweets, junk foods or ice cream since my first hypnosis session. I totally feel in control of my eating habits and I no longer overeat.”

Dan Vitchoff, MS Ed., CHt. Board Certified and Licensed Hypnotherapist, says such results are typical. Clients celebrating life-changing weight loss are the norm at this Pittsburgh hypnosis center, as is the glowing praise from others who have ended addictions to smoking or alcohol. Drew Miladin smoked for years before turning to hypnosis at the PA Hypnosis Center to kick the habit for good. “I quit smoking successfully with little or no sensations. It’s amazing and it really works.”

Vitchoff and his staff specialize in helping people lose weight, quit smoking and make positive changes in their lives through hypnosis. Clinical hypnosis has been proven as one of the most effective tools available for behavior modification; reducing stress, tension and anxiety; overcoming fears, phobias, and insomnia; public speaking; sports improvement; increased memory and concentration; and Professional Coaching. Vitchoff says, “The process of hypnosis allows you to train your mind to think about yourself and your life in a more positive way.”

Dan Vitchoff is a Mental Training and Performance Coach for US Olympic Gold Medalists, Walton Glenn Eller and Vincent Hancock. The methods and techniques Vitchoff used to help these elite athletes prepare for the most intense competition in the world are the same methods and techniques used to help clients at the PA Hypnosis Center reach their goals.

For more information or to request an interview, please contact Catie Dolgos at (724) 934-8446 or via email at hypnosismarketing(at)comcast(dot)net.
